Cameroon inaugurated a video surveillance center built by Huawei, implemented in the premises of the National Police command. And it is part of the Smart City Project in the country.

Huawei is the main technological partner of state-owned Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel), which provides connectivity for image transmission. The center also works with Huawei equipment.

Approximately 1,500 cameras, 65 basic transmission stations, four control centers and 1,000 transceiver stations have already been installed. Among the cities chosen to implement this video surveillance system are the capitals of the country's ten regions, as well as strategic cities like Kribi, a tourist city where the largest port in Cameroon is expected to be commissioned.

A representative from Camtel, who spoke on condition of anonymity, was inconsiderate, stressing that when the Chinese carry out telecommunications installations, Chinese engineers remain to manage the infrastructure. "They are reluctant to transfer technology to local people because they want to stay there."

Video surveillance is one of the most sought after security solutions in recent years, it is becoming increasingly important. The installation of the system allows you to increase your security and your assets.
