Manuel Homem is the new minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication of Angola |
This Monday, April 6, Manuel Homem was appointed Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.
As of this Monday, April 6, a merger of the then Ministries of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, and that of Social Communication, took effect.
Within the framework of governmental remodeling, this new ministerial department, which before the merger was headed by José Carvalho da Rocha, now has two secretaries of state.
This is Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira, Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, and Nuno dos Anjos Caldas Albino, Secretary of State for Social Communication.
40-year-old Minister Manuel Homem previously held the position of Secretary of State for Information Technologies.
He has a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Private University of Angola (UPRA).
The new minister has a master's degree in Computer Networks and Systems and a Master's degree in Web Technologies and Systems, at Universidade Aberta de Lisboa.
He has specialized training in Project Management from the IETEC Institute in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
From 2013 to 2016, he was Director General of the National Center for Information Technologies (CNTI).
From 2016 to 2017, he served as Director General of the National Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI).
From 2009 to 2011 he was a university professor of the Computer Engineering Course in the specialties of Computer Networks, Computer Networks and Systems Administration, Databases and Information Systems, at the Lusíadas Universities of Angola (ULA) and Private Universities of Angola (UPRA).
From 2010 to 2013, he was coordinator of the Technical Group for Standardization of Information Systems, Technological Infrastructures, Database Management Systems and Public Administration Services, at the then MTTI and member of the Electronic Governance and Private Network Implementation Commission of the State (CIEGOV).
